GFSI20 CallforProposals

We are excited to be opening our Call for Proposals as we start building the conference programme for the next GFSI Conference, organised by the Global Food Safety Initiative.

We invite you to submit your proposal before Friday 7th June EOD for a chance to join industry leaders and innovators on the GFSI stage in Seattle, Washington from 25th-28th February 2020.

As the industry’s annual rendezvous to advance food safety globally, it is essential that the GFSI Conference continue to deliver real-world solutions to participants and bring together the most instrumental people to collectively shape the agenda on a global scale.

We hope you will assist us in this goal as we celebrate GFSI’s 20 Years in 2020 and set our sights higher yet than ever before.

The theme for the 2020 GFSI Conference is: One Connected World. One Safe Food Supply.

The GFSI Conference Stage

Speaking at the GFSI Conference is a challenging and rewarding opportunity.

As previous speakers can attest, it offers extensive exposure on the international stage, helping you gain recognition in the industry, widen your network and position yourself as a key player in shaping the agenda.

Speakers and their organisations benefit from strong visibility throughout the event and beyond with GFSI’s dynamic communities.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for innovative ideas and concepts to bring to the table in 2020. These can include inspiring and impactful storytelling, interactive workshops, out-of-the-box ideas that challenge the status quo, innovative ways to interact with the audience, current and relevant learnings and take-aways in food safety around the world. The Conference Committee will select proposals to build a programme which reflects diversity in content, industry representation and geography.

As part of the global programme, here are some of the topics around which we would like to receive proposals:

  • The future of food, futurist perspectives
  • Emerging technology, trends & innovations, novel foods, eating trends (ex. meat replacements), blockchain, whole genome sequencing, digital tools, IoT & Cloud, e-commerce, social media, consumer innovations
  • Food safety leadership
  • Links between science and food safety
  • Food safety culture/quality culture (success stories & how to overcome challenges), behaviour in food safety (organisational behaviour, behavior change)
  • Government/regulatory & academic perspectives, public-private partnerships
  • Food safety in emerging markets, capability building
  • GFSI-linked strategies (company case studies), certification, auditor competency
  • Latest incidents (ex. romaine)
  • Managing emerging risks, risk assessment, crisis management
  • Allergen management
