The Global Regulatory Affairs Working  Group of the Global Food Safety Initiative has completed its work on a series of White Papers on “Enhancing Food Safety Through Third Party Certification”.

The documents were developed as the first stage in the workplan of this group, whose objective is to develop strategic food safety positions and educational materials in support of GFSI and to utilize the collective experience of the working group members and best available science, to provide review and assessment of key food safety-related regulatory issues which impact the use of third party certification as it relates to the GFSI remit. The membership of the working group is comprised of retailers, manufacturers, producers, food service operators, certification bodies and industry association representatives.
