CanadaGAP 2015

PARIS, 27th June 2018 – The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that CanadaGAP has achieved recognition against Version 7.1 of the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements.

GFSI continually evolves its benchmarking requirements to reflect new industry challenges, best practices and stakeholder input. With the publication of version 7.1 in 2017, all recognised CPOs were invited to complete a new benchmarking assessment. This collaborative exercise is one of the key ways in which GFSI ensures that new requirements are implemented throughout the industry to ensure safe food for consumers, everywhere.

“The CanadaGAP program has been recognised by GFSI since 2010 and is pleased to be re-benchmarked against Version 7.1 of the GFSI requirements”, said Executive Director, Heather Gale. “Over 3,000 companies in Canada and the US have chosen CanadaGAP certification to meet their customer requirements. GFSI recognition is an important way for CanadaGAP to demonstrate the rigour and credibility of the programme and for certified companies to access markets around the world”.

The success of this long partnership shows the positive impact of CPO engagement in GFSI’s work towards driving continuous improvement in food safety management practices throughout the global supply chain.

GFSI congratulates CanadaGAP on their achievement and for taking the steps to address collective concerns and improve consumer trust.
