GFSI is pleased to open a new global stakeholder consultation for the latest edition of the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements V7, previously the GFSI Guidance Document V6.4.

Why a Public Consultation?

As part of our commitment to providing transparency, we invite all stakeholders to participate in a a public consultation as an integral part of every benchmarking process.

Earlier this year, we were pleased to see tremendous participation in the first public consultation for the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements V7. Further to this input, we have worked collaboratively to integrate stakeholder comments and craft an updated version of the documents.

This version is now being opened to a second public consultation before its publication. With its status as a multi-stakeholder document that impacts a vast part of the food industry, we feel this is the process by which we can best involve food safety practitioners and experts.

The public consultation is open for a period of four weeks, ending on 1 November, 2016.

What Is New in V7?

GFSI is relentlessly evolving to meet the needs of a rapidly-changing industry. In this new edition, GFSI expands its guidance on:

  • Food Fraud
  • Auditor Competence
  • Food Brokers and Agents

Moreover, the new edition adopts a fresh modular approach designed to better meet the needs of schemes applying for benchmarking, with each Scope of the supply chain benefiting from a dedicated module.

To learn more about  these and other new features, we invite you to peruse the Executive Summaries of Changes, available on the GFSI website.
