GFSI is now soliciting nominees to lead the GFSI US/Canada Local Group as steering committee members! Candidates are encouraged to nominate themselves or their business colleagues by submitting their names to below address no later than 23rd January.

Candidates with the following credentials are encouraged submit their names:

  1. Familiarity with GFSI, including past participation in one or more GFSI Technical Working Groups.
  2. Experience overseeing and managing facility certification/s.
  3. In-depth knowledge of one or more agri-food sectors, e.g., produce, feed, transport, plant or animal processing, packaging, food-service, retail.
  4. Industry leadership or knowledge, particularly at the state level.
  5. Detailed knowledge of FSMA
  6. Public speaking experience

Nominated individuals require the support of their corporate management and be prepared to establish and drive the agenda of the Local Group with other Local Group leaders and GFSI staff, in addition to the ongoing work responsibilities. Local Group leadership positions are non-paid positions reporting to the GFSI Board of Directors.

The primary objectives of the GFSI US/Canada Local Group will be to increase awareness of the alignment between GFSI and FSMA and SFCA in order to both facilitate compliance with the new laws and increase certifications to GFSI-recognised Schemes.
