GFSI Technical Working Groups - Global Markets

GFSI is seeking GFSI stakeholders to participate in one of two Technical Working Groups (TWG)

In addition to GFSI’s role as a recognised leader in the benchmarking of global food safety standards, the development of the Global Markets Programme has been hailed by GFSI Stakeholders as one of its premier achievements. Since its initial launch, the Global Markets Programme has been adopted by companies around the globe as an entry level food safety solution for small, developing companies in local markets.

TWG open for applications from: 11 - 28 May, 2015

1. Primary Production Revision Technical Working Group (GMaPP)

Length of mandate: 12 - 18 months
No. of positions: 20 (4 retailer, 4 manufacturers, 4 Accreditation Body/Certification Body, 4 Service Providers, 4 Academics/Regulators)
Mandate: Revision of the requirements and protocol for the Global Markets Programme for Primary Production in accordance with stakeholder feedback
Frequency of meetings and commitment: Applicants must have permission from their organisation to be involved in at least three face-to-face meetings. Some conference calls may also take place between meetings.
First face-to-face meetings scheduled: USA, Summer 2015 (dates and location TBD); Düsseldorf, Germany from 15 – 16 September, 2015; Berlin, Germany from 3 – 4 March, 2016

 2. Global Markets Strategy Technical Working Group (GMaPS)

Length of mandate: 2 years
No. of Positions: 10 (2 manufacturers, 2 retailers, 2 Accreditation Bodies/Certification Bodies, 2 Service Providers, 2 Academics/Regulators)
Mandate: Establish a 5-year strategy for the development, implementation and growth of the GMaP.
This strategy should include: providing technical input for the development of Global Markets Programme outreach materials (i.e. programme presentations, 1-pagers, FAQ’s, video etc.), development of programme case studies, building strategic relationships with international organisations to gain support in implementing the programme globally, determining need for revision and expansion of existing GMaP checklists and other toolkit materials.
Frequency of meetings and commitment: Applicants must have permission from their organisation to be involved in at least three face-to-face meetings. Some conference calls may also take place between meetings.
First face-to-face meetings scheduled: Düsseldorf, Germany from 15 – 16 September, 2015; Berlin, Germany from 3 – 4 March, 2016

Eligibility

Applicants must be employed by an organisation that agrees to sponsor their participation in the TWG. 

All costs and expenses for participants’ participation in any or all activities of GFSI must be covered by the organisations that they represent. For further information on our rules and procedures see our governance document.
