CertificationThe Global Food Safety Initiative does not carry out any certification activity. GFSI is a benchmarking organisation that recognises existing food safety schemes (see GFSI Recognised Schemes). These standards meet internationally recognised minimum food safety requirements, developed by multi stakeholders, and they can be found in the GFSI Guidance Document Version 5. Once formal recognition has been given to a standard, the certificates gained from an audit to a GFSI recognised standard are accepted by many international and regional/national retailers or suppliers. GFSI does not intervene in retailer or supplier policy, make policy for standard owners or undertake certification/accreditation activities. |
