  • Spotlight on Auditor Competence

    Third party audits are one of the principal tools used by global industry stakeholders and regulatory agencies to confirm the effectiveness of food safety controls within the food supply chain. However over recent years, the efficacy of this process has been challenged, and in particular, the competence of those conducting the audits. Recognising this, the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) in 2010 launched a work stream on auditor competence.
