    La Global Food Safety Initiative (Iniciativa Mundial de Seguridad Alimentaria, GFSI por sus siglas en inglés) se complace en anunciar el lanzamiento de un acuerdo público-privado con el Ministerio de Agroindustria Argentino.Ambas entidades han firmado una carta de intenciones para trabajar conjuntamente en un programa nacional de capacitación basado en el Global Markets Programme de la GFSI, así como para colaborar en eventos nacionales de seguridad alimentaria.

    Houston, 28 February –The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) yesterday hosted over 100 representatives from more than 20 countries and multilaterals organisations who gathered in Houston just ahead of GFSI’s 16th annual Global Food Safety Conference to discuss better collaboration for global public health outcomes.

Countries such as Japan, China, Mexico, Canada, the UK and the United States of America had a strong presence at this second edition of the meetings, sending delegations from their food safety agencies.

Sous l'égide de l'Initiative mondiale de la sécurité alimentaire (GFSI), cet événement a rassemblé 1 200 délégués de l'industrie alimentaire venus de 52 pays pour discuter des questions et tendances les plus importantes concernant la sécurité des aliments. Immédiatement avant l'ouverture de l'assemblée plénière, la conférence de presse qui s'est tenue cette année a eu pour sujet principal les partenariats entre le secteur public et le secteur privé.

The two entities have signed a Letter of Intent to work together on a national training programme based on GFSI’s Global Markets Programme, as well as collaboration on national food safety events.

This recognition is a major public/private achievement and it comes as further reinforcement to what many food industry experts have reiterated time and again – that achieving certification to a GFSI-recognised certification programme puts operations in a good place to meet new government regulations.

    The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) held its third government-to-business meeting adjacent to the Global Food Safety Conference in Tokyo, the industry’s annual rendezvous for the advancement of food safety globally, which is taking place from 5th-8th March. Government food safety regulators and intergovernmental organisations (IGOs) met with the GFSI Board of Directors to discuss third party certification, discussing emerging food safety issues and trends.

    The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) has announced a global partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as part of its strategy to strengthen public-private partnerships. The agreement aims to strengthen the private sector in developing countries, promoting the importance of food safety, environmental and social sustainability. The IFC is a sister organisation of the World Bank and a member of the World Bank Group.
