A Roadmap to Safer Food and Market Access

Failures within complex supply chains are a huge risk to food safety – could new technology be the answer?

Historically, food safety agendas mainly focused upon assessing and managing risk within the primary processing and manufacturing unit. We now realise that supply chains are, in reality, an aggregation of multiple chains derived from the numerous components which make up the products. Any failure anywhere within these chains can result in major incidents. Is this where new and emerging connected technologies can really start to help?

Technologies to Advance Food Safety to the 21st Century

Quality assurance managers everywhere will agree that there is just simply too much paper to manage in the food processing and preparation operations making operations inefficient and resulting in costly mistakes. How can this situation be improved?

Quality assurance managers everywhere will agree that there is just simply too much paper to manage in the food processing and preparation operations making operations inefficient and resulting in costly mistakes. Temperature logs, traceability information, daily checklists, cleaning schedules, training- all still mostly recorded with pencil and the clipboard. Even when modern technology advances have revolutionized almost every aspect of our lives, one of the most important and vital aspects, monitoring and ensuring the safety of food we consume has not advanced beyond paper and pencil, thus making it error prone and inefficient.
